    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

Homosexuals are constantly prosecuted and separated by society due to their sexuality, yet they still continue to stick with their sexuality.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. Ang puso kong mapagmahal parang pilikmatang kulot.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

Homosexuals should be treated like regular people because they're still human. First, they should not be separated or isolated from society. Second, they should experience the same benefits as anyone else. Lastly, their sexuality should be treated with sincerity and respect.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I'm glad for what has happened in that case. It means that homosexuality is becoming more acceptable in society and they will also be able to experience the
    benefits of marriage.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

I think that they should be more tolerable of homosexuals. It is reasonable that homosexuality is against the Islamic laws but killing one over it is not. Killing only makes the issue worse than it should have and doesn't benefit anyone in any way.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

Homosexuality is not a disease nor a sickness. It may be spreading like one, but homosexuality is not infected into a person. The person has to chose it.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

In both, homosexuality is somewhat considered as an abnormality. However, homosexuality is more acceptable and respected in western countries while in asian countries, homosexual are punished since their sexuality is against their beliefs.

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

It is presented that he is being abused and mistreated by his family especially the father. Homosexuality is presented as a bad thing in the family. People would beat him up and not care to understand.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    "Kaya parang lahat ay nalilito"
    - it says that people dont really understand
"Kahit anong gawin nila bandera ko'y di tutumba"
    - it means that people would beat him up or mistreat him but he wont give in
"Tama na naman itay, di na po ako pasaway"
    - it means that the dad is abusing him because he's gay.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

Homesexuals should be treated with respect, understanding, love.
Example if a person were gay we should respect them like we respect others. We shouldnt judge them
Another if a person were gay we should understand them and not jump to conclusions.
Another we should love them. Everyone deserves to be love. Homosexuals are humans too and must be loved.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I think the US supreme court did a great Job. They are deciding and choosing equally that the wife gets the belongings because she stayed with her wife longer. That even not married legally, they are married so the right to get the property is the wife.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

I think it is just wrong because people should be treated equally. The punishment to the homosexuals from the Islam are just terrible its inhumane. People wether gay or not is human and must be treated equally, I think people should treat them with respect

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I think this is just wrong. I think just because their sexuality is different it doesn't mean its a disease. Doesn't mean if someone is different they have a sickness. People should treat each other the same and not judge them. People shouldn't label others because they're different.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

In the western people are more open than asians. People in the west give the homosexuals equal rights, i mean now they have same sex marriage. As for asian countries such as here (philippines) and middle east are not so open to Homosexuals. Like in the middle east there is a grave torture for them. In the philippines people especially the father is totally against homosexuals especially to their son.

    1. In view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

Sirena presents how people treat homosexuals. They are treated like wild animals or garbage. It’s sad because Sirena shows the point of view of the homosexual and shows what feelings they get when they are treated horribly. This kind of reminds me of a short film I saw a few years ago, entitled “Love Is All You Need?.” It showed a heterosexual living in a homosexual world and it really shifted my perspective because it shows how homosexuals must feel while they live in our judgmental society today.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

They should be treated like normal people, because they are human. They should be treated respectfully by the public. Nobody should look down on them. There should be more open and accepting people who will give them the same equal opportunities as the heterosexuals are given.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I was very happy to hear this because I’ve heard so many stories about gay people who are not allowed to have equal rights. I am also happy because now these people get to have their own families and be united with the ones they love. :)

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals”.

This article really made me upset because these Islamic people treat homosexuals like they have something to be ashamed of. It’s so sad because these people make homosexuals feel like they are so different, but they can’t do anything to change it because that’s really who they are. This type of treatment can cause heavy emotional trauma, which nobody wants.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I find this wrong. Just because homosexuals have different attractions and interests doesn’t make them any less important from the rest of us. They feel the exact same things heterosexuals feel, just towards the same sex, and it shouldn’t be considered a disease.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

In my opinion, Western countries are a lot more accepting than Asian countries. In America, gay marriage is legal in ALL states, but in Asian countries, it is against the law. A lot of Asian countries are very against it and think it is a sin, while Western countries tend to be a lot more accepting.

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

    - He is presented as a disgrace in his family and people in general dislike him because of his sexuality.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

Homesexuals should be given the same respect, understanding, and love. The same us 'normal people receive.
We should treat homosexuals as anyone else.
They shouldn't be isolated from the community
We should respect them and their decisions.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I think the US court have figured out that LGBT are people too and they should be given equal rights with so called 'normal people'. They have finally chosen to notice that some people in the community are discriminated for something as small as their sexuality.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

A religion that is based on love and trust is misinterpreted with Islamic people, it is a pity that they cannot accept someone for being themselves.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

Its a pity that the Philippines cannot tell that some people are just really homosexual, there is nothing wrong with their choices. If there is no problem with them, then we have to change our view on the topic.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries are more open to new ideals and do not (as often) discriminate against people. On the other hand, eastern countries have stricter cultures and religions which stems our progress to being a more open community. This brings more problems with change, and hurts people that are different in the respective communities.

  11. 1.) It is viewed as a trait that can easily be fixed. In the music video, the homosexual was punished for being different and not accepted. He was being tortured so that he may change and become "normal". They viewed homosexuality as a sickness that burdens the whole family and that it is a disgrace to the family name.

2.) "Gamit ang pulbos na binili kay Aling Bebang upang matakpan ang mga pasa sa mukha na galing sa aking ama" He was beaten by his father for being gay. Families think of homosexuals as a threat to the pride of their family name. They think its a disgrace if theyre family member is gay. They view it as a burden to the whole family.

3.) They should be treated like how everyone else is treated. They are not different from anyone. We are all the same and we all have the same rights. They should not be treated differently because of what they are interested in. They are people and should be treated as such.

4.) I think its great. Love should be expressed no matter the gender. Love is not restricted simply by a persons gender. If a person loves another, it doesn't matter what the problem is, they should be together. No matter what, love must never be stopped.

5.) I find it revolting because of the inhumane acts of those who committed it. They made the people suffer because it was against their beliefs. A person is entitled to believe in whatever he/she wants to believe in. They should not suffer because of what they're life choices are. A person should be left alone no matter what he/she believes in.

6.) I disagree because homosexuality is a gift. A person is given the choice to love whatever gender they want. Homosexuality isn't a disease, it is a right. People have the right to choose to do whatever they want. They must not be discriminated just because of what their interests are. They should be embraced by the community no matter what.

7.) I noticed that western countries are much more open to the homosexuality of people. In western countries, they accept those people and their choices. They do not judge them by what they are interested in. Homosexuals are given the same rights the heterosexuals are given. However, here in asia, homosexuality is frowned upon and thought of as a disgrace and as a burden. Asian countries do not accept homosexuals as openly as western countries do. They are still being judged by people even tho it isnt their fault.

    1. In the music video "Sirena", it started out with a homosexual who was getting bullied and abused by men. As the song continues, it shows how the homosexual grew up and always knew that he was gay. His father was disappointed and ashamed of him and it is seen through out the whole video that the homosexual was going through rough times because of his sexuality.

    2. • Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid

    3. • Treat them with respect

    • Treat them

    4. I am happy that members of the LGBT community can now have same sex marriage. Marriage is a right that should be given to every citizen regardless of their sexuality. These types of marriages may not be able to procreate, but they would still be able to raise families through adoption and other alternatives. They can raise their children to be Christian and to spread the word of the Lord.

    5. I feel for all those muslims who have been beaten, lashed or stoned to death because of their sexuality. I believe that no religion should condone any of these types of violence. I do not know much about Islam, but I do know that they do not teach people to be hateful. I believe that all religions should treat everyone equally regardless of their religion, race or sexuality.

    6. I do not agree that homosexuality is a "disease". I believe that each and everyone of us are entitled to learn and understand our own sexuality. No on should get in the way in that.

    7. Western countries have already started approving or being open to same sex marriages. I don't think I've heard of many Asian countries who have legalized same sex marriage. I think that as our society develops, we become more open to these thing because we understand that everyone should be treated equally and have the same rights.

  13. 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

The song presents a homosexual as someone who seeks mercy and right treatment. He sings about the fact that he is mistreated and is discriminated as a person in society.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

"Kahit anong sabihin nila ako ay ubod ng ganda"
"Upang matakpan ang mga pasa sa mukha
    Na galing sa aking ama"
"tila di natutuwa sa tuwing ako'y nasisilayan"
"Sa paglipas ng panahon ay di ko namamalayan
Na imbes na tumigas ay tila lalong lumambot"
    "Ang puso kong mapagmahal
    Parang pilikmatang kulot."

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

For me, everyone, even homosexuals, must be treated with absolute respect. We can offer then gifts, treat them as they are like us, and assure them of what is good in them instead of what is bad.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

In my opinion, in terms of legality, it is good that they were granted equal rights to others in their society, however, morally speaking, I still feel that same-sex marriage isn't right. But it is good that in their territory, they grant equality to all people.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

Once again, I feel angry and stunned towards the mistreatment of others in society. I feel that those people are showing no justice or respect and that they are handling the situation in the wrong way.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I wouldn't say it is a sickness, since that is harsh, but rather something different than what we are accustomed to seeing, something out of the norm. It should just be seen as something that requires more consideration and understanding from the members of society.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

In Western countries, such as America, they are more accepting of LGBT community members and they actually legalize issues we find debatable, like same sex marriage, while Asian countries are discriminating them and making them appear to be different in a bad way.

  14. 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

Based on my understanding, a homosexual is being treated unfairly here in the Philippines. In the song it shows how harsh it is growing up as a homosexual and how badly treated a homosexual is by society.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
    1. With equality, just because a person is gay or lesbian doesn't mean we should treat them so differently.
    2. With respect, because homosexuals are people too. They should not be treated as outcasts.
    3. With care, because who says you can't care for a homosexual person for being homosexual.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

Love can come in any form. Therefore, we must respect all forms of love wether it be of the same or different sex. Love will always win as long a chastity is practiced.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

Just because some people are different doesn't mean we have to treat them so diffrently. It is in the commandments that we must love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I would not say disease or sickness for that would be very offensive. Instead I would say an evolution of the human mind. Everything changes and evolves to something new and different and as one species we must cope and accept these changes without discrimination.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries treat their homosexuals with equality and respect. On the other hand, asian countries are more bound by tradition and are unwilling to accept homosexuals into their community.

    * In the song the person is not treated kindly by both his family and the people around him.

    2.  What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals.  Write at least 3.
    * Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid
    * Dahil ba ang mga kilos ko'y iba, Sa dapat makita ng inyong mata

    3.  How then should homosexuals be properly treated.  Give at least three concrete examples.
    * treat them kindly
    * Treat them with love
    * Treat them humanely
    4.  Love wins case in the US Supreme Court.  Give your opinion.
    * I think it's good that they think that everybody deserves love because everybody does deserve to love and to be loved.

    5.  Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
    * I don't think that it's fair that they are being treated like that and I think it'd should stop no because they are still human beings who have rights.

    6.  Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines.  Give your reaction.
    * I don't think homosexuality is a disease at all. We should accept these people wholeheartedly.

    7.  Compare and contrast:  Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

    * I think in some way there is still a mistreatment in both Asian and western countries although in western countries (e.g. The United States of America) they are trying their best to accept the members of the LGBT community by legalizing same sex marriage.

    1. The homosexual was treated horribly by his family and friends

    2. "Kahit anong sabihin nila ako ay ubod ng ganda", "Kahit anong gawin nila bandera ko'y di tutumba", "Naglalakihang mga braso, saki'y dumidikdik", "Sa patagalan ng paghinga, sa'kin kayo ay bibilib", "Upang matakpan ang mga pasa sa mukha”

    3. In my opinion, homosexuals should be treated right and equally. First, I will not mind their business. Two, I’ll let them be. And lastly, I’ll respect them because they are happy for who they are and I believe that God would be happy for them to since he is forgiving and a smile in our faces makes his heart smile as well.

    4. I personally believe that the “Love wins” case is a way for the US Supreme Court to show others that they also support the legalisation of same sex marriage. It is good for the partner of the homosexual couple to possess the things the partner has because they have lived through thick and thin, and they have lived 25 years together.

    5. In my opinion, reading through the article was hard because of how bad the Islams treated the homosexuals in the Middle East.

    6. I believe that this is horrible for the Filipinos to think that because homosexuality, in reality, is not a sickness at all. It is offending to those who feel like they’ll be happier in life if they are homosexual/gay.

    7. I think that Western countries treat homosexuality better than Asian countries due to the many reports I’ve seen on the news.

1.Gay people are treated unequally or like they are not part of this world because they are a mistake and a disappointment.

    2.

3.Homosexuals should be treated equally and fairly just like how we treat straight people because they have rights to and we have no right to abuse their rights. They should be allowed to do anything they want since they too have freedom like us.And lastly they should be treated with respect since they deserve that and they are creations of GOD and everything HE made must be treated with respect.

4.For me the love wins case is an example of how the people of earth are starting to unite and respect each other. It also shows how people are starting to be equal with one another and no one being treated highly or lowly. And it also shows how their government begins to support the rights and freedom of these homosexuals which they truly deserve.

5.Reading this article was really a pain to the heart because as a person you wouldnt be able to imagine how these people can do such things to their fellow countrymen just because of being a homosexual.

6.For me this is one of the biggest mistakes we made since homosexuality is not a sickness, it is a choice and from the moment we were born GOD gave us the freedom to choose what happens with our lives and calling this choice or freedom a sickness is very rude and disrespectful.

    7. Western countries have more support and respect to homosexuals than asian countries because asian countries have done more cruel things as a punishment to homosexuality.

    1.  In view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
It is shown in the MTV that the homosexuals were treated in a different way compared to those who were not. It also showed how the homosexuals really feel when people make fun of them and make them feel like they don't belong.

    2.  What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals.  Write at least 5.
    "Naglalakihang mga braso, saki'y dumidikdik"
"Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid"
"Kapag ako'y naiiyak ay sumusugod sa ambon. Iniisip ko na lamang na baka ako'y ampon"
"Kasi araw-araw na lamang ay walang humpay na banat. Ang inaabot ng ganda kong pang-ilalim ng dagat"
"Ano bang mga problema nyo? Dahil ba ang mga kilos ko'y iba"

    3.  How then should homosexuals be properly treated.  Give at least three concrete examples.
Homosexuals should be treated the same way as everyone else. They are still human and children of God. Just because they are different, that doesn't mean that people have the right to treat them like garbage. People should accept them for who they are and respect them. Everyone should look at each other equally no matter what.

    4.  Love wins case in the US Supreme Court.  Give your opinion.
I really support this and it was good to hear that homosexuals can marry each other. That means that they can grow their own families and live the future that they want with the one they really love.

    5.  Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
This really made me feel bad for them because those who just wanted to be themselves and tell the world that they were gay, got physically and emotionally hurt. Most of them even died just because they loved and accepted themselves for who they were.

    6.  Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines.  Give your reaction.
This really disappointed me because homosexuality is definitely not a disease or sickness. Just because they act different and have different interests compared to the other people in of the same gender, that does not mean it is a disorder or an illness.

    7.  Compare and contrast:  Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
I think that in Western countries, they have started to accept homosexals and given them more rights as compared to the ones in the Asian countries. The ones in Asian countries have more restrictions and do not have the same amount of acceptance.

"Simula pa nang bata pa ako,"
    "Mga labi ko'y pulang pula,"
    "Habang kumekembot ang bewang"
    3. They should be treated with respect. People should just accept reality and they should be loved for who they are.
    4. Different ways of love like incest did not win.
    5. Homosexuals are being treated badly like they're not human at all.
    6. Homosexuality can't be a disease and it is most certainly not a disease. It is a way how people act.

A homosexual is treated differently. They are considered abnormal and detested by society.

    2.  What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals.  Write at least 5.

    "Ako'y isang sirena"

    3.  How then should homosexuals be properly treated.  Give at least three concrete examples.

Homosexuals should be treated like everyone else, accepted and loved in society because they are humans like us.

    4.  Love wins case in the US Supreme Court.  Give your opinion.

I'm glad because homosexuals are given freedom to be together with the people they love, and having equal marriage rights with normal people.

    5.  Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

It's saddening because homosexuals are treated like they're deceased and contaminated. If people are born that way, nothing can be done and instead we should respect them.

    6.  Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines.  Give your reaction.
This is really unjust, homosexuals should be treated the same. Homosexuals may be different in some ways but they are still people, who also have things in common with us.

    7.  Compare and contrast:  Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries treat homosexuals fairly and are more open to these kinds of people. Unlike Asian countries who are strict with these kinds of cases and until now still treat homosexuals differently.
