4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
I believe that everyone has the right to love anyone. We all were entitled with freedom and this is such a right and justified way to use it for our own good and personal concern. As long as you don’t get to hurt and step on anyone to suffice yourself, then love would always win. Through love, every good, better and best things would happen in today’s society. Maybe after all, this is the only factor that we have been lacking— love.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I am indeed and just beyond disappointed with how they mistreat human beings that do not differ from each one of them. In fact, it would be better to be a homosexual rather than sentencing a person who did nothing wrong. In today’s society, respect and love is what our main scarcity is made of. Deficiency of education and considerations is what makes our environment so unorganised. You can never treat a Homosexual if it’s already engraved in their hearts that they would be one; but, a uncivilised and discourteous people who do such sentences could still be healed.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
Homosexuality should never be viewed as a mere disease or infection to someone. In fact, this has been their choice to be like one because this is what their heart beats for. We all have different perspectives and stands on “who” to be around everyone, but it’s never hard to “respect” people in accordance to what they choose to be.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
It is obvious that the western countries are coming off as the more open-minded ones in respect of the homosexuals. They are more educated and full of perspectives to sense that homosexuals are actually human beings too. We should all take this as a proper source of inspiration to lead our country into a better path in terms of each and everyone’s right and freedom. We are all human. We ALL have the right to love. - 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.ReplyDelete
A homosexual is presented someone who is not accepted by society and is an outcast. According to the person his own father disowned him and refuses to even acknowledge him. They are not treated as people are often beaten and bullied.

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
Homosexuals like us are people too and should be treated as such. All I need to say is that in order to properly treat homosexuals we must remember that their sexual preference does not stop them from being human too and we must treat them like how we treat other people too.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
I believe that the rest of the world should follow the US supreme court’s example because we must stop depriving people of the chance to love since God put us on this planet to love each other and to treat each other like how he treats us.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I believe that the Islam must move on from their past traditions. Homosexuality is no longer a sin seriously it’s 2016 no need to collapse walls on people who like to love people of the same gender. In the end we’re all just people looking for love in other people and punishing people for loving is just wrong and this must stop.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
I believe that this code must change. If everyone is taught this Civil Code then we would be raising a generation of homophobic people who would continue to hate and God would not want this to happen. He wants his people to love and not to hate.

Western countries and Asian countries generally have different views on many things and the Western people seem to be more open minded while the Asian countries tend to be more traditional. 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
In the MTV "Sirena" a homosexual is presented as someone who is discriminated and persecuted for who they are based on their sexual preference, by their actions, by the clothes they wear. Most of society as presented in the MTV has a negative connotation of a homosexual, and many suffer because of this.

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
I believe that homosexuals should be treated the same way as everyone else is, they are humans being having done nothing anything wrong and they deserve the same respect. We should not discriminate them or place them out of society. We should respect their opinions and views and not be closed-minded people. We should also encourage others to help spread awareness in order for them not to become social outcasts and looked down upon.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
In my opinion, I pro towards the love wins case in the US Supreme Court. People should be allowed to marry and love whoever they desire, may it be of opposite genders or of the same as everyone has the right. Most people fear that it would destroy the essence of a family and procreation; however it will not as families can still be whole or formed from adoptions in which people help children left behind find a home to shelter and raise them.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I am really sickened by the treatment homosexuals in middle eastern countries as homosexuality does not fully equal to the act of sex. Does someone engaging in feelings for the same gender really deserve to be injured to the point of almost death? And even the shunning from his own friends and family? I do not think so as people should learn to be more open-minded and understand what homosexuality is as it is often misunderstood.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
This is really disappointing as something of a preference or choice is already counted as a disease and sickness, this should not be as homosexuality does not destroy a person such as a disease or sickness. Homosexuality does not destroy a person's mental health as they are only affected by the environment and society surrounding them. Our present society must learn to face the real truth and understand what homosexuality is.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Western countries such as USA tend to accept the homosexuals more than that of the Asian countries. Most Asian countries are heavily influence by their tradition. 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
The common denominator among the homosexuals present in this music video is that they are ridiculed for being “different”. The people in our society often degrade others based on their sexuality alone. We should not discriminate, but instead should see each other as equals.

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
There is no need to provide three concrete examples on how to properly treat homosexuals. They do not need to be treated differently, in fact, we should all treat each other the same. Just because someone is a homosexual, that does not mean they are any less of a human being. We are all equal. Everyone just needs to learn to treat others with respect.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
In my opinion, the approval of the US Supreme Court to marriage equality is a success for love. Everyone has the right to love, and love who they choose to love. We are all entitled with the freedom to do so. The approval does no harm, and even brings happiness to those who are now able to get married through it.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals”.
It makes me really sad to think that some people are mistreated like this, especially because they have committed no crime. They do not deserve to have walls collapsed on them. How could you treat someone so cruelly for merely loving someone society deems as “unacceptable”? Everyone is free to love whoever they want to love.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
Homosexuality is not a disease nor is it a sickness. Being “different” does not decrease your value, and being “normal” does not increase it. People simply need to learn to respect one another, even if their views are contrasting.

1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
In the video, homosexuals were greatly stereotyped and were shown to be known as disgraces to their family members, and have become victims of abuse due to their sexuality. Even until now, there are still evident cases of homophobia in the Philippines, wherein relatives would verbally and physically abuse their “loved ones” after figuring out that they are not heterosexual. Because of this, homosexuals tend to be shown as outcasts and subjects of ridicule in the Philippine society.

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
Homosexuals should be treated equally, fairly, and should be given the same amount of respect that we give heterosexuals. We can do this in ways by supporting their choice of love, by not bullying/discriminating them, and by treating them kindly, like how we would treat any other person, regardless of sexuality.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
I believe that this is a great and very positive turning point in US History. Because the LGBT community has finally been given their rights to be wed to whoever they truly love, which is a right that had been kept away from them for centuries. Through this event, the LGBT community is now able to express their love legally, and are well on their way to being treated like any other person.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I think that it is horrible and incredibly inhumane, for people in those countries to treat homosexuality as a crime against nature. It is greatly disturbing to know that there are people who are willing to kill and torture others, just because they love differently from the “majority.” This article has only made me want to support the LGBT community more, because it is so disheartening to know about the prejudice and the pain that they have to go through, and how not everyone is even aware that things like this even happen in the present time.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
I greatly detest this. Homosexuality is not wrong. Homosexuality is merely a way that some people choose to love others, and it should not be seen as something wrong or something disgusting, just because it is not “normal” to some people in the country.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Asian countries are shown to be less welcoming to homosexuality, thus they are treated unfairly as outcasts in the society. The Philippines, being a Southeast Asian country, is also at fault for showing homophobia. Meanwhile, Western countries have had much more time to adapt to homosexuality, thus they appear to treat them relatively better. In addition, equality for all the sexualities has shown to be improving greatly in the West, as countries such as the US have already legalized same-sex marriage, and other laws that ensure that the LGBT community is given the rights they deserve. - Julienne Marie UyReplyDelete

1. In view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
-Well, in the music video and the lyrics itself, it portrays the negative side on how homosexuals are treated around the world - not only in the Philippines. The song showcases the main reason why those with a different sexual orientation from heterosexuality aren't very open with "coming out". This goes to show that people tend to act indifferent towards homosexuals, sometimes taking the abuse too far.
2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.
-"Kahit anong sabihin nila ako ay ubod ng ganda." Despite all the name-calling or bullying homosexuals would usually go through, most (if not all) homosexuals have a strong heart and self-esteem. Hence the whole phrase itself. It emphasizes their realization of their own beauty.
-"Gamit ang pulbos na binili kay Aling Bebang
Upang matakpan ang mga pasa sa mukha
Na galing sa aking ama." This shows the physical abuse that homosexuals would experience; and to think that this comes from their families and loved ones. This goes to show that some families highly oppose the idea of homosexuality, and that they do whatever it takes to make them "normal".
-"Pero bakit parang lahat ay nalilito pa rin
Ano bang mga problema nyo?
Dahil ba ang mga kilos ko'y iba,
Sa dapat makita ng inyong mata." Just because the sexual attraction of a homosexual is different from that of a heterosexual, plain and simply, it does not make them any less of a human being.
-"Akong paluin ng tubo kahit kinakalawang
Tama na naman itay, di na po ako pasaway
Di ko na po isusuot ang lumang saya ni inay." The fact that homosexuals still get physically abused despite all the EMOTIONAL abuse they've gone through, says a lot about how indifferent people are towards homosexuals. The chosen phrase literally shows that some homosexuals tried to CHANGE their sexual orientation in order to PLEASE their family members, and yet they still get mistreated.
-"Kapag ako'y naiiyak ay sumusugod sa ambon
Iniisip ko na lamang na baka ako'y ampon
Kasi araw-araw na lamang ay walang umpay na banat." This phrase shows the effects of the emotional abuse (some) homosexuals go through - it's even worse that some attain depression or even SUICIDE because of this. Homophobic tendencies are becoming a lot worse.
3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
-One, they shouldn't be treated any differently than normal human beings. Heck, we shouldn't even be discriminating them to begin with. We shouldn't HAVE to site ways on how to treat homosexuals. They're HUMAN, they're NORMAL. Period.
-Two, in the case wherein one does not agree with homosexuality, the very least s/he can do is RESPECT the ideas/perspective of a homosexual. Just because their (homos) livelihoods are different, it doesn't give them (heteros) the right to FORCEABLY change their (homos) way of living. It's not right. (Although, this does not include the actions of either homosexuals or heterosexuals. If either one does something wrong, sexuality doesn't matter.)
-Three, the reason why most homosexuals experience discrimination is because people are educated/brought up to believe homosexuality is wrong. What we can do is properly educate the younger generation on the different types of sexuality in order to lessen further discrimination. - Julienne UyReplyDelete

-I'm incredibly happy with this decision. I think it shows equality amongst the people, and that they're slowly removing the biases on the LGBT community. It's a slow step towards achieving universal love among all.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
-The treatment is inhumane. It's stupid, it's brash, it's... Unnecessary. Things could be done in a different way. There's always another way on how to handle things, there's no excuses. But to torture another human beings life purely on one's sexuality? I don't understand how or why the Islams (although not all) would do this. They have a different culture and all, but I wish I could help.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
-In all honesty, I think it's dumb to say that "homosexuality is a sickness". There are scientific and sociological explanations to what homosexuality is. Homosexuals aren't DIFFERENT from normal human beings. A disease is defined as an abnormality in one's condition. And was there any scenario that showcased a homosexual performing DIFFERENT BODILY ACTIONS than heterosexuals? No! They perform in the same way heteros do! The ONLY difference is their sexual preference. That's it. Nothing more.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
-As of recent events, it's clear that the Western countries have become more open to the idea of homosexuality. The USA has finally legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states! That speaks VOLUMES of how Western countries feel towards homosexuality, even though not ALL Western countries entirely agree (the USA has a lot of influential power, so this could change). Heck, same-sex marriage has been legalized in other Western countries way longer than the US, an example being Canada. On the other hand, I'm not too sure how Asian countries feel about homosexuality. Basing this on the Philippines, I can say we have a mixed reaction towards this. Some agree with homosexuality and some don't. - Juan Miguel E. Caguiat; cn:12; Junior-DReplyDelete

1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
In the view of this, it shows how homosexuals are being discriminated and mistreated for being a different kind of person. It evidently showcases what possible things are done to them once others find out about their homosexuality. This also comes in with the stereotyping. Another is that, we can clearly see and get from the video on why these people are having a hard time opening up about their sexual orientation to other people. Homosexuals don't deserve to get mistreated for not being heterosexual, but they should be respected.

Homosexuals should be treated with respect; we shouldn't disrespect and mistreat them because they're humans too and no single human being deserves to be disrespected. Another is that, we definitely should never EVER discriminate them because there's seriously nothing wrong if they are a homosexual and you are different from them - we are all created equal and we were created to care for each other and leave another out. Lastly, we should treat them with so much love because that is one of the best things you can give to them and in fact, you receive it back too. It is just in the matter of having respect for the person as well. Everyone deserves to be loved and shown that they deserve to live. No one should ever let another feel like as if they are not worthy of the life they are living in.

For me, this makes me really really happy. In my opinion, I stand for this case in the sense that I'm pro for it. Everyone deserves to marry who they love and in which, people have the right and choice to marry and love who they really want - either opposite or same gender, all is well. 5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I'm really saddened by how the homosexuals have been mistreated. They did not do anything wrong yet they are being treated like as if they really did. Where is the respect? There is nothing wrong with having feelings towards the opposite gender. It's not sickening at all, because that's love. What's sickening is the fact that these homosexuals get mistreated for loving someone in the same sex, and in fact - they don't deserve this kind of bad treatment at all. From all these mistreatments, it can trigger these people a lot of factors and it can even affect their life. This is why we should respect and love them, because they deserve the best as much as ours.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
First of all, this is definitely and indeed NOT a disease or a sickness. Since when was homosexuality a literal disease? Never. It's a kind of sexuality and it's something you won't be literally sick with. Being unique and different has no problem but the problem is that, why do some people still disrespect these people for being so? The one thing that some people really need is respect for others for who they are because they're humans too and being different will never ever decrease your worth in the world.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Basically, the Western countries have more open acceptance than of Asian countries. The Western countries can adapt and open more to changes and they have acceptance easily, but Asian countries are affected by society factors. - Simon Tolentino 40 J-D CHRISTIAN LIVINGReplyDelete

4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
Ans: For me, I am okay with the fact that their homosexuals but for me, I think they shouldn't disrupt the laws of marriage. Marriage is suppose to be a bond of love between a man and a woman and we shouldn't destroy that bond. The laws of marriage are written in the bible and we should follow that or else God would unleash his wrath upon us.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
Ans: They were treated unfairly and brutally. Those brutal acts that they've been doing are against our human rights, they were being treated like animals. For me, Islams must admit the fact that there are gay people in this world and punishments won't change their sexuality because that has become their nature.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
Ans: Disease or a sickness means that it causes problems. I don't see gay people as problems in our country, unless they become killers or they disrespect other people.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Ans: In the western area, homosexuality is booming because they mostly have accepted gay marriage. While in the Asian countries, homosexuality is still being disgraced by some countries and gay marriage isn't accepted. But to compare the both, homosexual people from both areas are starting to go out, which makes the LGBT community happy. - Homosexuality Understanding Research WorkReplyDelete

1. In view of the MTV "Sirena", how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person?
• In view of the MTV "Sirena", the interpreter who sung the song in the first person presented a homosexual as an outcast and as someone who is rejected by everyone, including his family. The interpreter used rap (where the lyrics are said in a very fast matter in tune with the beat) in order to present or depict the life of a homosexual.
2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals? Write at least 5.
• "Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid
Naglalakihang mga braso, saki'y dumidikdik
Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid
Sa patagalan ng paghinga,
Sa'kin kayo ay bibilib
Ako'y isang sirena
Kahit anong gawin nila
Bandera ko'y di tutumba..."
3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated? Give at least three concrete examples.
• For me, homosexuals should be properly treated by doing the following: first, accepting them fully as who they are no matter how hard it may be because they are also humans and they deserve to be loved; second, understanding them and knowing their background before judging and criticizing them, because you never know the different trials and challenges a homosexual is undergoing; and finally, treating them like any other human being with no reservations or doubts whatsoever before interacting with them, because as said before, they are also humans and they deserve to live a normal life where they are not being called as a detriment to society.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
• For me, I applaud the US Supreme Court in making a very bold and monumental decision to allow gay marriage to exist in some states of the United States. They made love win for the first time in decades. Personally, I like the decision of the US Supreme Court, but I believe that natural marriages, those between man and woman, should still be upheld and should still be the "norm" in society.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
• From the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals", I do not agree with the actions of the Islamic people, where homosexuals are put under a wall that is to be collapsed, leaving them there for half an hour, then given medical help. This is not at all humanitarian or human, at the very least, and is a clear representation and depiction of violence, abuse, and a violation of a person's human right. The people must accept a person for who he or she really is no matter their culture.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the Amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
• According to the Amended Civil Code of the Philippines, homosexuality is considered a disease or a sickness. Personally, I DO NOT agree that homosexuality is considered as such. For me, it just proves that the person is brave and bold enough to come out to society. The Government should realize that some homosexual people actually contribute to society by sharing their special skills and talents. For me, homosexuality, when controlled, is not a disease or a sickness and should not be considered as such.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
• When it comes to the treatment of homosexual people and homosexuality, I can say that Western countries are generally more accepting and understanding than that of Asian countries. Most of the people in Western countries accept and even congratulate the coming out of a person as homosexual, while most people in Asian countries typically reject and dishonor someone who considers himself or herself as homosexual. In a nutshell, most Western countries are more open-minded and open to change, while most Asian countries stick to tradition and are more traditional. - 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.ReplyDelete
In the MTV "Sirena", the homosexual was treated badly because of how they want their sexuality. They are being hurt by their friends and even by their own family. Homosexuals are being persecuted just because of who they are and what they do. They are also being treated different from people who are not homosexual because even people who are part of their family are not acknowledging him.

Ano bang problema nyo? Dahil ba ang kilos ko'y iba

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
We should treat homosexuals the same with us heterosexual. We should also treat them with love and respect. We should not hurt and discriminate them because they are also human beings.
4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
I believe that people are now realizing what is right and how we should treat homosexuals. People now learned to love and respect others and treat them nicely. The homosexual people are finally given their right to express love and they are not to be discriminated anymore.
5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
The article showed that they are doing something very wrong because you are not supposed to hurt others even if they are homosexuals. We should treat everyone equally and we should always respect their sexual preference.
6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
Homosexuality is not a disease because it just shows how people want to love. Homosexuals are also human beings and they are not sick because they are just expressing their love to others.
7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Western countries accept the homosexuals more compared to the asian countries. Western countries like USA are more willing to accept the homosexuals while the asian countries are still influenced by their culture and tradition that's why they are different from western countries. - Gabriel Pineda JD 31ReplyDelete

I disagree with this civil code because homosexuality is not a disease.

Western countries are much open minded than with the Asian countries because they are given the freedom to be with whoever partner they would want for the rest of their lives in the form of marriage. -

There were different kinds of interpretations in such video. Maybe this was varied in the matter of their perspective and what more. However, their is one thing that was in common with both product: it showcases how the crowd always repudiate the homosexuals in accordance to their difference from the rest. They are undeniably discriminating such sexualities while acting with the society’s pride. Sirena is a very accurate and true way to wake up the people in today’s time how messed being “equal” is through the variations of treatments. Hence, this should simply wake us up from all the biased considerations to the diversed sexualities.

3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
There is only one very simple yet a very loud way to express your deep sincerity and respect for homosexuals: treat them like no any other different being. Remember, they are human beings too— they have feelings and they are gifts given by God to this world. We all have no right to judge them for how they dress or how their looks differ from the crowd. As long as they respect you, then that’s what should be thrown back at them respectively. You shouldn’t treat them something special or less, be with them because your heart wants too. Homosexuals are nothing less like us. They are like us— it’s only the classification that differs everything else. Just simply respect each other and everything would fall into place accordingly.
