JR-E RESEARCH WORKS-- TERM 3

  1. Bryan Herbosa JE

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
    - The person who sung the lyrics presented a homosexual as the typical “bading” in the Philippines. The “Bading” they call in the Philippines are men who act and dress like women. The song does not go deep into the meaning of homosexual but instead, it sticks to the common definition of a homosexual, specifically a gay person.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.
    1. Kahit anong gawin nila bandera ko'y di tutumba

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
    - They should be treated like a real man/woman is treated.
    - With respect because they are human too.
    - Like nothing is different.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

    - Being a catholic I don’t like it because it will increase the chances of people becoming a homosexual although I wouldn’t say it was a horrible move being God has taught us to respect one another and gave us the freedom to do as we please.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

    - We should respect everything each person does for he/she has his/her own reason for the act. Wether right or wrong we should respect it, if wrong then we simply keep the person aware, and if correct we support the person. Although the way the Islams did it was wrong therefore we should share with them what we know so that they can get a chance to change for the better and change their ways.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your
    reaction.

    - I think believe that it was wrong to call them a disease nor a sickness for there is no difference between a real man and a gay person or a real woman or a lesbian.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
    - The western countries have accepted the LGBT community more openely than that of the asian countries. However the the asain countries are in progress and are not too far away from the way the western countries treat the community which I believe should make the said community happy.

    1. Homosexual people are discriminated and seen as an embarrassment. In the music video, one may be able to see that homosexuals aren't treated equally compared to those who are heterosexuals; moreover, the homosexuals are not treated with respect, rather, they are mocked and bullied by those around them.

    2.

    3.
    - Treat homosexuals equally for they are humans
    - If you don't have anything nice to say to them, don't say anything at all
    - Be open minded with their lifestyle

    4. I believe that it is a good thing that the United States of America legalized same sex marriage because these people deserve to spend the rest of their lives with the one that they love. It is also a good thing that it is legal because they would be able to show to others that love can really withstand the odds (the odds being those who judge them, etc.)

    5. It is very inhumane and contradicting. Through the acts that they do, they themselves prove that heterosexuals are no better than homosexuals. These acts are also inhumane because these homosexuals are people with dignity and feelings too, and they must also be treated with respect.

    6. Homosexuality is not something that one would be able to control. Because of this fact, I think that the statement about homosexuality being a sickness is irrational because it's not like these people chose to be who they are — they were born that way and I personally don't see any thing wrong with that. In addition, love is love, and who are we to prevent people from being with the one they love

    7. Those in the Western countries such as America are very open minded about this topic; however, there are also some countries like Russia who persecute homosexuals. The same goes for the Asian countries as well. In short, there are numerous places who are accepting and there are also numerous places who do not approve of homosexuals.

1.) A homosexual in view of MTV's "Sirena" is presented as a male who simply appears to prefer girly objects and activities, and sometimes prefers to put on makeup or accessories that may be targeted to females more than what the usual male population prefers. He does not appear to be attracted to females but rather he himself likes to feel like a girl mainly because the status quo refers to call girls "beautiful" in their appearance.

    2.)

    Parang pilikmatang kulot."

-"Hanggang sa naging binata na ako
Teka muna mali, dalaga na pala 'to

3.) Homosexuals should be treated with the same amount of respect as any other human being. 3 examples of giving respect is to simply accept their identity, no matter how the status quo may regard such orientation as "taboo". Another is to simply support them in any endeavor they face, especially if it involves any matter with relationships. Finally, one can give them the same respect we give to others by standing up against oppressive groups or societies that continue to discriminate these homosexuals. I feel that it would be considered ridiculous to condemn those who only wish the happiest in life, even if it doesn't always go past the status quo's ways.

4.) I support the movement made by the US Supreme Court in legalizing same-sex marriage as this serves as a safe haven for homosexuals to get the same set of privileges as heterosexuals do in life. I believe that legalizing such motion would be considered as a huge benefit because we would then be safeguarding the innate right of humans to love-with some countries in the world condemning such acts, the US has shown that doing so would only take away one of the most valuable principles in life (besides religion to some), and so, they have taken a step forward in putting a stop to discrimination and give these homosexuals a rightful place in society.

5.) As I have mentioned before as my remark over the issue, I find it ridiculous that such religions condemn the very practice of love and relationship simply because they do not follow the requirement of the couple being of opposite genders. I find that the right to love is something that cannot be taken away by any power nor religion so long as it does no direct physical harm to anyone.

6.) Homosexuality is seen as a topic of great discussion and debate among societies today, with a proportion of the society leaning on the idea that it is depicted as disgusting and barbaric because it doesn't follow the general idea of what to see in a relationship. It saddens me to hear that the Civil Code mentions how it is considered as a "sickness" when I believe they only call it so because it is found to be strange living amongst their societies.

    7.)
SIMILARITIES: Both countries find homosexuality to be quite a strange concept of love and living
DIFFERENCE: The difference here lies between how they see it as a whole in regards to how it may live in the lives of its countrymen; Western countries believe that homosexuality may be a threat to the line of genetics and disease whereas Asian countries find it a threat to their religion and thus they condemn those who support or are a part of the group of homosexuals.

    1. In the video, the inequality and discrimination among homosexual people is very evident especially when compared to heterosexuals.

    2.
    > Naglalakihang mga braso, saki’y dumidikdik
    > Upang matakpan ang mga pasa na galing sa aking ama
    > Sinasabi sa sarili, "anong panama nila?”
    > "Ano bang mga problema nyo? Dahil ba ang mga kilos ko'y iba
    > Tama na naman itay, di na po ako pasaway

    3.
    > Treat everyone with respect
    > Practice inequality
    > Be open-minded

    4. In my personal opinion, the legalization of same sex marriage in the US is good step forward for the world in order to attain equality towards everyone. Everyone should have the equal opportunity and rights to be able to be with the people they love and gender, for that matter, should not be a barrier.

    5. It is completely ludicrous that such religions would condemn 2 people in love due to the practice that love should always be of the opposite gender. The treatment that these homosexuals recieved is something that no one should ever go through since respect is a must for everyone.

    6. Homosexuality is definitely not a disease or a sickness since a disease is something that may be prevented or cured. A person’s sexuality comes naturally within them and if that is removed, their entire entity is erased.

    7.
    > Similarities: Both regions are starting to adapt to the concept of homosexuality
    > Differences: The progress of Western countries is much more evident than that of Asian countries since the US has already legalized same sex marriage.

    1. In view of the mtv sirena for the singer he was representing a homosexual. The "sirena" is a male who was doing things girls would do, just like their make up. The video also showed him being discriminated because of doing such things.

    3. 1. They should be treated the same.
    2. They should be treated with respect just like everyone else.
    3. We should be open to the idea of a homosexual

    4. On my opinion I think this wasn't a very good decision because same sex marriage isn't what God really wanted since he only wanted 2 genders which are male and female. Same sex marriage could also lead to sexually inappropriate things.

    5. This is bad since they discriminate homosexuals and it isn't really their fault that they are like that. They are human too and they are of our kind these are very crucial things we must remember. Homosexuals are no different than we all are which is why we shouldn't treat them so badly.

    6. Homosexuality is neither. In my opinion I think it is all about perspective and choosing what you think is right and I think they thought they were placed in a body of the opposite sex.

    7. Similarity: Both starting to be open about the concept of homosexuality although both used to find it strange
Difference: We are lagging behind the western countries since they have same sex marriage while we don't.

    1. In the video, homosexuals were discriminated and disrespected. The father punished his gay son for being homosexual becuase he thinks that it is shameful and unacceptable to have a gay son.

    2.
    b. Mga labi ko'y pulang-pula
    c. Habang kumskembot ang bewang
    d. Mga hikaw na gumegewang
    e. Ako ay isang sirena

    3. Homosexuals should be respected. They should be allowed to love and marry who they love. They should be treated equal like having jobs like men and women have. Also, they should never be separated from the society because of their sexuality.

    4. I think that love really wins. We should be able to express our love to those who we really want to live for the rest of ourselves and the way to express this love is through marriage. So for me, homosexuals should be given equal rights as those of men and women.

    5. I feel bad because they think that being homosexuals is unaccpetable and a shame to one's family. Every person are created by God in his image so for Him everyone is equal and no one is better than the other. So for me, discrimination of homosexuals should be the one that is prohibited because every life is important to our Father and this should be taken care of.

    6. For me, it can be said as a disease because homosexuality is against to what marriage is all about and that is reproduction. Homosexuality can be treated as a disease if the people want to marry each other but they should still be respected and should be given understanding.

    7. Western Countries think that homosexuality is legal and as "normal" to their countries and Asian Countries think that homosexuality is a crime and will bring shame to one's family. However both are trying to understand homosexual to give a solution to this situation

    1. In the video, homosexuals are presented as an outcast and as someone weak. What they present themselves to be is belittled and disrespected because people think they do not belong.

    2.

    3.
    - Show them love & respect them like how you should respect your neighbors. Do not give them disgusted faces, they’re human after all.
    - Accept them for who they are, do not judge them just because they do not align with the norm.
    - Do not show separation between the genders, treat them as how they want to be treated.

    4. Its nice to hear that the court is actually listening to the protests of the people. This does not just leave a mark in history, it also marks the fact that nations are progressing and not just sticking to what was done in the past. Nations should be moving forward and people have the right to live somewhere they feel safe and belong.

    5. People can’t help it, we don’t get to choose who to fall for after all. One shouldn’t be led astray just because s/he doesn’t fit the norm. Its 2016 and we should be working towards the change in the society, change where we can all be comfortable in our skin without having to worry about how people will react to who you are. We shouldn’t define others based on who they choose to love.

    6. One’s close-mindedness and insensitivity is just equally alarming, most especially if nothing bad was ever done to them. The problem begins when one doesn’t show acceptance in a society where everyone is unique and different. However, this Civil Code has been edited and is now accepting people for who they are. There is no need for discrimination!!

    7. Not to speak for all countries but in Asia, some countries have no problem with homosexuals. In fact, homosexuals play a big role in show business, specifically in talk shows. Sadly, Asian countries are known for shaming and not accepting homosexuals. In addition, they are beaten and humiliated. On the other hand, Western countries show more support for homosexuals for their culture has affected their way of thinking.

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

A homosexual is presented as being treated less than human by those who believe they are a cancer to society, but strong enough to say that he doesn't care about what others believe.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

    Practicing equality
    Having an open mind
    respecting others's preferences

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I believe that this should have happened a long time ago. Homosexuals are people as well, and it's hypocrisy to give fair treatment to murderers and not to homosexuals.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

I think that this is a terrible policy, and it should be abolished. The world cannot know true peace without first being united, and this is not unity.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

A person's taste is not a disease. A person's sexual orientation is entirely their own, and treating it as a disease that must be eradicated is a step towards destruction.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries tend to treat homosexuals better, whereas Asian countries tend to mistreat homosexuals, often treating them as sub-human. However, both sides are taking action with regards to homosexuality.

    1.  in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
    - Homosexuality is presented through a way that will help heterosexual (straight) people understand how it’s like to be treated as a homosexual. It was shown to us how homosexuals are treated with no equality and are often looked down upon by society. It’s heart breaking to see how these people (such as the singer in the video) are treated just for being who they really are.

    2.  What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals.  Write at least 5.

    3.  How then should homosexuals be properly treated.  Give at least three concrete examples.
    - Homosexuals should be treated equally because as humans, they have rights too. Being homosexual doesn’t mean that people can look down upon you and treat you with disrespect.
    - They should not be punished for being homosexual because they’re just simply being who they really are.
    - They should not be ashamed of, particularly by their families because being homosexual doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you or the way your parents raised you.

    4.  Love wins case in the US Supreme Court.  Give your opinion.
    - I like how same sex marriage is legal in the US because I believe that everyone should be equal and if heterosexuals can marry one another, then homosexuals should be able to do so too.

    5.  Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
    - It’s very irrational because homosexuals shouldn’t be punished for being something that society doesn’t approve of. It’s very unfair and it goes against their rights as humans because after all, they’re just being themselves; punishment is not the answer to that.

    6.  Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines.  Give your reaction.
    - I disagree. Homosexuality is developed through a person’s instinct and likeness or “type”. If males fall in love with other males, and females fall in love with other females, then that just shows how everyone is different and their views on other people are different as well. It’s not a sickness/disease because it really just depends on the person and who she/he is attracted to.

    7.  Compare and contrast:  Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
    - Similarities: both Asian and Western countries have several opinions towards homosexuality and how to handle/deal with it.
    - Differences: Western countries are progressing faster compared to Asian countries into accepting these individuals to their society without being looked down upon, disrespected, and ashamed of. (Ex. Same sex marriage is legal in the US, but not in most Asian countries)

    1. In the video, it was evident that the way people treat homosexuals is different from how they treat heterosexuals. It is also evident that people look down upon the homosexuals and dont accept them in our society.

    3. •Homosexuals should be treated with respect.
    •Be open minded.
    •Treat homosexuals equally.

    4. I believe that it is good that people of the same sex are able to love without being afraid of the consequences.

    5. After reading this article, I feel bad that people nowadays still look down upon and even kill people just because of their sexuality. We are taught to love and live freely. The fact that they are going against those things is just sad because those people did nothing but love someone of their own sex.

    6. I believe that the statement is not true because homosexuality isn't a disease or sickness. A disease is something that needs to be cured and homosexuality is when people of the same sex love each other. Having that said, loving someone of your own sex isn't a sickness at all.

    7. Compared to Asian countries, I think Western countries are more open to the idea of homosexuality unlike in some parts of Asian countries. In most places in the US, same sex marriage has been legalized unlike in Asian countries. But I believe there are still countries, whether Western or Asian, that still look down upon homosexuals and still believe that homosexuality is a sin.

  13. 1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

-Sirena shows homosexuality because in the video it shows that there is this one guy who is gay. The homosexual person chooses to be like a girl because of the way he dresses, acts around, and other things that is different from his original gender.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

Teka muna mali, dalaga na pala 'to

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

-With respect, because they are still part of the creation of God.
-God gave us the freedom to live his life and who he can judge
-With love because God wants us to love no matter what they aee because only God can judge them

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

-I think that it was a wrong decision by the US Supreme Court because they didn't consider religion. They didn't consider the bible. God wants us to love one another but not in the same religion. God made man and woman to love another so that they can multiply. Also, if you base it off in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah God doesn't want the people to practice sexual acts that are being applied to the same sex.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

-Showing respect to one another is what we need to do. Even if they are wrong we should teach them the correct way so that they will not do the same and commit the same mistakes. They are our brothers or sisters because we are all created by God and we should all learn how to love each other.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

-It's not a sickness or disease because it is something that you cant control. But, there is always a solution for that and I believe that if it is we follow the teachings of God. Also, if they commit to the inappropriate acts, then it will turn out to be bad.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Similarities: The western and asian countries are already open to it but its quite strange for some.

Differences: In the western countries, there are countries that legalized gay marriage while there are a less number of asian countries that legalized gay marriage.

    • A homosexual is someone who dresses up like a girl, like wearing dresses, putting on makeup, even cheering in basketball games.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
    • They should be treated with respect since they are also humans created by God, For example if we see a homosexual being bullied we should at least help them.
    • They should be loved. For example if you found out your family member is a homosexual you should still love them no matter what because they are still family.
    • We should always respect their decisions. For example if you’re friend happened to want to be a homosexual respect them for they have freedom anyway.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
    • For me this is a good thing and a bad thing. I like the fact that the government realized that Love has no boundaries and is to be shared with everyone what I don’t want is that maybe just maybe some homosexuals will use this to their advantage since marriage is technically already legal.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
    • The way Muslims treated homosexuals is way to inhuman in the real world. These people are still humans like us and must be respected no matter who they are.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
    • Homosexuality is not a disease but a choice, a disease corrupts the person making them incapable of doing things which are normal. Therefore, homosexuality does not corrupt the person but instead gives them an experience of their own free will given by God.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
    • Some countries in Asia treat homosexuals as a form of entertainment and a lot of bashing and shaming while Western countries on the other hand have learned to accept the fact that there are homosexuals in this world but both still have in common that there will always be people who will judge and shame homosexuals.

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
The singer presented the homosexual as a man that appears to have a feminine side and likes to cross dress. In our society, this is how a stereotypical gay person is viewed. It is also shown in the video that the homosexual is not accepted by his family or society as they mock his actions that are "unusual" to see.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.
I think that homosexuals shouldn't be treated any differently than us. All of us are human and we are all created after the image of God, and in his eyes, we are all equal. None of us are in the right to say that anyone is lesser than us just because they feel attraction to the same sex. Anyone should be allowed to marry whom they want. Anyone has the right to go out without being stared at because "it is disturbing to see couples of the same sex showing affection." Lastly, sexuality does not define a person and we should not set a stereotype against homosexuals.

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.
I am in favor of this because, as I said, anyone should be able to marry whom they want. We cannot deny anyone of marriage because, love is love and they should be free to express it to someone else even of the same sex.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
No human deserves to be served death because we think it is right. Abuse is not something we have the right to give because it could potentially lead to death, and only God should have control over that. I do not fully understand the Muslim beliefs, but as a Christian, I do not support their treatment because, all of us are humans and no human is greater than another in the eyes of God.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.
I do not think it is a sickness or disease, and I don't think it should be reffered to that way. Homosexuality isn't a disease you get from spending too much time with another person. Homosexuality is attraction to the same sex. It is simply attraction. Just because it isn't normal, it doesn't mean that it is a disease.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries, even if they don't fully accept it, it isn't taboo. Though many don't like it, many also fight for it. Asian countries are more "conservative" and asians aren't comfortable tackling the issue. ( with exception to countries like Thailand)

    1. in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.

In the video, homesexuals are shown as abused and disrespected. They are shown as second class citizens and looked down on even by their own families.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

-People should not look down on them
    -Treat them equally
-They should be given equal rights

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I think it just makes sense for homosexuals to have equal rights because they are human too. The fact that others believe homosexuals should not have equal rights is disgusting because all they are doing is preventing happiness in a scenario that has no effect on them.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

The article shows an extremist set of punishments to homosexuals caused by a primitive view of homosexuality. It's scary to think about this intense form of discrimination but it is also a wake up call to show that we have to change.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I think that that form of belief is long outdated and that homosexuality is an actual sex and not a disorder.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Western countries: more progressive and open to homosexuality
Asian countries: less open to homosexuality and more likely to uphold dated beliefs about homosexuality.

  17. 1.  in view of the MTV "Sirena" how is a homosexual presented by the interpreter who sung the song in the first person.
A homosexual was presented as a strong individual who has to put up with all the abuse hurled towards them for being who they are. When actually, they are just like everyone else, they are not different, they are also human.

    2.  What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals.  Write at least 5.
Teka muna mali, dalaga na pala 'to

    3.  How then should homosexuals be properly treated.  Give at least three concrete examples.
Homosexuals should be treated as they really are, as humans. One situation would be to not be discriminatory towards how they feel to express themselves, like in the song, if they want to be feminine we must learn to accept them still. Another may be supporting them whenever they feel bad, just like how we treat others, we must not think less of them than how they truly deserve, as fellow humans and children of God. Lastly we must accept them, wholeheartedly, most homosexual individuals feel as if they cannot be who they are because of the "gender norms", we can help them by showing that we are with them as well.

    4.  Love wins case in the US Supreme Court.  Give your opinion.
I really love that the US had finally legalized same sex marriage since for me, it does not matter what gender or race they are. They deserve to be happy, they deserve love, they are not less than us. Love is love.

    5.  Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".
I feel angered because these "humans" are treating fellow people that way just because they feel love for their own gender. It is disgusting how they claim that what they are doing is just to when essentially, it is murder. They are still taking a life.

    6.  Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines.  Give your reaction.
I do not agree with that civil code, homosexuality is not a thought in your head. Homosexuality is when you feel live for a person of your own gender, it is the product of an emotion in your heart. You do not just "catch" it.

    7.  Compare and contrast:  Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.
Western culture seems more generally accepting towards homosexuality than countries in Asia. While in US homosexuality can almost be considered the norm, there are still people being put to death in Asia for the same thing.

In the video homosexuality is depicted as something people shame. The homosexual was abused and beaten by others, even by his own father because of his sexual preference. But despite all of this the main character chose to stand firm and step up for what he believed what was right.

    2. What key statements or phrases in the lyrics would attest how discriminating our culture is towards homosexuals. Write at least 5.

    3. How then should homosexuals be properly treated. Give at least three concrete examples.

-Homosexuals should be given equal rights and benefits
-Homosexuals should not be physically or emotionally abused
-Homosexuals should be allowed and accepted in soceity

    4. Love wins case in the US Supreme Court. Give your opinion.

I personally think that the Love Wins case is one step forward to progress. I believe that everyone should be given equal rights despite the color of their skin, race or sexual preference. Allowing same sex marriage opened the door to a better and peaceful world.

    5. Give your opinion on the article "Islamic Treatment of Homosexuals".

I understand that it is against their beliefs to allow and have homosexuals but I do not agree to them killing and abusing them. All life is sacred and should be respected.

    6. Homosexuality is a disease or a sickness according to the amended Civil Code of the Philippines. Give your reaction.

I do not think that homosexuality is a sickness. You cannot cure homosexuality with medicine because it is not a disease in need of curing. Instead of trying to cure these people we should give them more opportunities for better lives.

    7. Compare and contrast: Western countries and Asian countries as to treatment of homosexuality.

Western countries are more open to the idea of homosexuality unlike asian countries who strictly follow tradition and shames it.

    1. Based on the music video, homosexuality was presented as a type of gender that is an embarrassment. They showed us that they weren’t treated equally as of how the usual heterosexuals were treated, which is with dignity and respect. Also, this music video shows how much a person that is homosexual had to go through. All of the challenges that he had to go through just because of his gender.

    3. Homosexuals should be treated: with respect like how you respect others, equally because they are just the same as you and me, and like human beings because we are all the same.

    4. I believe that love should always prevail. The US supreme court is doing the right thing by implementing same sex marriage. Everyone of us should have equal rights and freedom. I believe that everyone has a right to be with the person they love regardless of their gender. Every person should experience how it is like to live a life with the person they truly care for before they’re called in heaven. They should have the chance to undergo a married life and have a chance to test how strong their relationship can stand.

    5. These muslims should stop convicting others just because of their gender. None of us have the right take a person’s life because we are not gods. Only God has the right to take our lives because he was the one who gave it to us. Killing another person is an act of treason. One of the commandments states that we are not allowed to take another person’s life. Doing this kind of act is immoral and we shouldn’t commit this kind of mortal sin. Killing another person is an act worse than being homosexual.

    6. Homosexuality is not a sickness or disease. It is a gender for which a person is born with. None of us can stop another person if deep inside they are really a homosexual. Homosexuality is not a disease that would spread because even if you put a heterosexual in a room filled with homosexual people, the heterosexual person would still have the same gender. Homosexuality is the identity of some people. If you remove this from them, who they be.

    7. Both Western Countries and Asian Countries are getting used to the idea of Homosexuality. On the other hand, Western countries are more open and more accepting when it comes to the people that are homosexual. While in some Asian countries, they think that homosexuality should be illegal and those people should be ashamed of what they are.

    3. With Respect.
    Have an open-mind.
Treat them as if they were human, like homosexuality doesn't mean we should separate from them.

    4. I think it's good that the US government has started to recognize the homosexuals, which will definitely help us learn to respect the homosexuals.

    5. I feel sad that there are people who treat homosexuals as less than humans

    6. I feel disgusted that the government had to put that part in as part of the civil code, as it puts them on almost the same level as murderers, rapists and pedophiles, even though that isn't necessarily the case.

    7. Western Countries are more open and accepting of homosexuality while Asian countries view homosexuality as a curse or something that is not beneficial, a negative concept.

    1. In the music video, it shows how homosexuals are shamed and ridiculed for being different to what we portray as normal. Our society is very judgemental to others based on their sexuality and we gave each sexuality many stereotypes, but the music video tries to shut down some of those stereotypes.

    3. *treat them as how we would treat a normal person, for they are also normal people.
*do not discriminate or stereotype them. *accept and love them for God wants us to love everyone.

    4. In my opinion, I am happy at this announcement. The right to love should be given to anyone, and I believe that legalizing gay marriage in the U.S. is a big step forward to spreading the love throughout our society.

    5. I believe that it is not right to do something so wrong to a person who is different. I don’t believe that killing or severely injuring homosexuals is a peaceful act, especially because Muslims are supposed to be spreading peace.

    6. Homosexuality is not a disease or a sickness. Just because you are different from what we see and you see things differently means that you are sick. A sickness means there is something wrong with you, but there is nothing wrong with being a homosexual.

    7. Western countries are more accepting of homosexuality, as shown by the legalization of gay marriage, compared to the Asian countries. Asian countries follow tradition and religion, which is why we don’t really open up to homosexuality.

    5. The article shocked me. I don't believe that this is the right way to treat someone indifferent, in fact, you don't even have to treat them differently or punish them for who they are because we are all equal. We should respect everyone for they are our brothers and sisters.

    7. The western countries are starting to warm up to and accept the LGBT community. However, several countries from Asia aren't very open minded and not open to the idea of homosexuals.
