Jesus said to his disciples:
"In those days after that tribulation
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
"And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds'
with great power and glory,
and then he will send out the angels
and gather his elect from the four winds,
from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.
"Learn a lesson from the fig tree.
When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves,
you know that summer is near.
In the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that he is near, at the gates.
Amen, I say to you,
this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
"But of that day or hour, no one knows,
neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Anton Castillo JH CN-9
ReplyDeleteThe gospel tells us of those days of tribulations and Christ's coming to this world of ours. I believe he is trying to tell us that his arrival is near. So near that when we wake up tom he is right beside each and everyone of us. God loves us so much he died for our sins. The sins we have committed against him in his name. We must love our God with as much love he gives to everyone on the planet. Love with our mind, body, and spirit. Every new born baby is loved and blessed by God. And all life lives and dies. Our time will come and Christ will come as well. We must repent for our sins for he is coming to our world. We must be prepared until that day. While remembering he still loves unconditionally.

ReplyDeleteIn this gospel, the Lord is giving us several signs regarding his second coming. We should be aware of what is happening around us because we will never know how he will return to our world once again. Our generation will not pass away unless all of these works of mystery take place. But it is understood that the Lord’s words will never pass away. We might be aware of all these things and say that we are not afraid of it, but we will never know when. We have to believe and strengthen our faith in Him so that nothing will go wrong.

ReplyDeletein this gospel, God talks about the signs that will be shown to signal the second coming. We should be aware and never lose faith in Him. We should always remember to always do what is right and to be good to our brothers and sisters, so that when to time comes we can join Him.

ReplyDeleteThe Gospel tells of the time that our Lord would come again. He was sharing that with the second coming, it is better to be prepared and always be doing good. Looking at it, Jesus is warning us that it will all end soon, no one knows when, but it will end all suffering and save all of God's followers. In such a way, Jesus states that doing good would make all the difference in God's judgement in the end days. We have to prepare ourselves in everything because we never know when the end comes. I plan on remembering this warning, always knowing that there could be a day where it all ends, telling others that you never know when your time comes so you should always be good.

The gospel is telling us that God is giving us signs that he is about to come again and he is warning us that earth and even heaven will pass away but his words will last forever. With that being said, we must stay true to God’s words and we must follow all his commandments and everything that he has asked us to do and wait patiently for the day that he comes again.

ReplyDeleteI think that this gospel is explaining how there are going to be trials, tribulations, struggles and conflicts - a lot of them - before Christ comes down to us. Nobody knows when that day is, except for God Himself. This is why we must always prepare ourselves for the second coming of Christ, and stay true to our knowledge as Christians. We need to follow God's plans for us without questioning it. After all, Jesus said in John 13:7, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
The gospel is telling us that no one knows when the end will come but there will be signs. We would see stars falling from the sky and much more but we should not be afraid. This is so because when this day comes we would see Jesus Christ once more. We should always follow the ten commandments and be kind to our brothers and sisters. We should never let a day pass by with anger in our hearts. This so because we could not predict our future and what is ahead of us. All we could do is have faith in the Lord.

ReplyDeleteThe gospel is basically about Jesus telling people about the second coming and that we should know what to expect when it happens. But it also says how no one will know when it will happen. Which is why I think that since we know that there will be a second coming, we should all be prepared. We should repent on our sins, follow God's commandments and keep our faith in God strong. We must be true to ourselves and to God because the second coming can come any day now.

ReplyDeleteMark's gospel narrates to us about the second coming of the Lord. In it, Jesus speaks of what signs we must look out for, signs that denote that the Lord's coming is near. He reminds us that not even He knows when it will be, but only God the Father Himself knows. The gospel of Mark reminds us that as Catholics, we all believe that eventually, Christ will return, and he will separate the good from the bad, thus it is our duty to seek repentance for our sins and to always practice making the good decisions in everyday life. Of course, prayer is always very powerful, as a means of communicating with God. Through prayer, we can grow closer to Him, and have the strength to overcome the temptations we face in life.

ReplyDeleteS: As seen from the first paragraph of the gospel, it tells us that there will come a time when the sun will no longer shine, the moon will not show its light, and the stars will fall from the sky. This will be the time of chaos, suffering, and bewilderment. Everyone on Earth would believe that it will be the end of the world, when in fact it is only the beginning. From this Gospel Reading, it tells us that the Son of Man will be coming from the clouds in all His power and glory and He will protect those who are deserving.
Now in the following story it tells us about a fig tree. Jesus uses the tree as a representation of when He will come again. He is saying that when all good things happen such as that of the sprouting of the fig's leaves, the Son of Man is closer to us as He stands at the Gates of Heaven. Another thing Jesus points out is that, "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away". He is simply saying that we must believe and hold fast to Jesus' words than anything else, for His words are true and they are what will bring us to God.
J: This really is a beautiful gospel. It gives me hope for a better life to start in preparation of Jesus' Second Coming. I hope that other people may use this gospel as a signal to do what they should in order to get a place in Heaven. There are a number of ways to become better Christians, but I think that there are two ways to do so. One is to "love your neighbor as you love yourself" and secondly, "love your God with all you heart, mind, and soul". But I am sure there are other things that need to be done in order to reach Heaven, but those two are what Jesus has asked us to do so we may enter Heaven in the afterlife.
A: I will continue to follow what Jesus has told us in order to enter Heaven. Those are the main rules that must be followed as a Christian, but I will do all that I can to commit myself to do what is best for myself and most especially for others. I shall not forget to pray and offer everything to God each day. I will help others be aware of their actions so they may be prepared for Jesus' coming. In the end, I will continue to do what I must do to maintain a good Christian life.

ReplyDeletethe Gospel tells us about the second coming. It tells us that He will come again in glory and that we should be prepared. How will we know? The signs, no one will know when will it happen, No One but God will know. But the signs will give us a way, a time to be prepared. So we must see the signs and be ready at all times to welcome him. Be prepared for anything, expect the unexpected.

ReplyDeleteThe gospel tells us that Christ will come again but no one knows when he would come. When he comes, he will judge us and everything we have and have done in our lives will mean nothing if we aren't prepared for the second coming. Thus, we must stay faithful and vigilant for he may come at any given point of time.

ReplyDeleteSEE:In the gospel Mark chapter 13 verses 24-32
we see that the sun will not be as bright,
the moon will not give out as much light,
the stars will fall from the night sky,
the powers in Heaven will not be at peace, Jesus will be coming in the clouds
as an all perfect man,
he will send out his angels
and gather his elect from the four winds.
Jesus tells us of the signs to look out for in preparation for his next coming. To which he compares it to a fig tree in knowing that summer is near, but in this case it's to know when he is near. These are seven happenings in total to watch out for but nobody but God the Father knows when this shall occur. It is said that our generation will somehow witness all of these before passing on to the next life.
JUDGE: In reading this gospel I feel as if my faith is somehow strengthened. This is so, because it is nice to hope to see your creator and to read such possibilities. However, no one really knows whether it is for this generation. People say they need to see with there own eyes to believe, but there is so much beauty around us to know that this is solely not made by a normal man. We can just trust in the father for his plans for us.
ACT: I can act on this by trying to practice what I preach. We are only human so we may sometimes commit the same mistakes. I will try to live as a better Catholic for myself and for society. I will start working on me and hope others improve on themselves to create a more peaceful world. I will spend more time meditating and giving more time for him.

ReplyDeleteThe gospel is telling us that Christ will return on this earth for the second coming and while we're still here on this earth we should start being holy, do good things and follow the word of God because that's the only way we could be saved for the second coming, only that can assure us entrance to the kingdom of God
This gospel is abou the second coming of Christ. It tells us to be prepared and be ready. We must be aware of the signs that can give us a warning about the second coming. Though there will be signs it will not be easy to identify. We must be attentive and spread the teachings of God. No one knows when Jesus will come back, but what we know is that when he does good and evil will be seperated. We must repent while there is still time.

ReplyDeleteS: This gospel tells us that everything we have and everything will happen / is happening will come to an end. Though it sounds scary we should just keep our heads up because he will come again and good things or even better things will happen to us as long as we believe and trust him.
J: This gospel gives me hope because as thankful as I am for my blessings which I know I am very privileged to have, as long as I keep my faith in him he will provide more for me. Some of us may be selfish and just wish for more and more things but we are thought by God to be thankful because even if we say and tell others we are thankful God knows the truth and how we really feel and he rewards those with goodness in their hearts.
A: This gospel has inspired me to become more thankful and to help others more as much as I can to become a true follower of God. I through small actions and prayer hopefully will help others who I know need my help even if I do not personally know them because all of us are brothers and sisters who should care for each other regardless. Lastly I will also help remind myself and other people not to be greedy any realize that some of the things we take for granted other people are praying for.
This gospel tells us that the earth will pass at some point and we must accept that. We must always have faith in God so we may join his side when the time comes for us to leave this material plane and finally enter the spiritual plane. We must be prepared for the second coming of the Lord
ReplyDeleteThis gospel tells us that the end is near and we should spend the remaining time of us living on this earth for good. I think that god is giving us more time to do good and be children of god for us to go to heaven. We must be prepared for the second coming of god

ReplyDeleteThis gospel is about Jesus' warning about the second coming. This also tells us we should always have faith and hope in God. We should always do good things and follow His every rule. We always have to respect one another and your surroundings.
