GospelMK 13:24-32

Jesus said to his disciples:
"In those days after that tribulation
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

"And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds'
with great power and glory,
and then he will send out the angels
and gather his elect from the four winds,
from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.

"Learn a lesson from the fig tree.
When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves,
you know that summer is near.
In the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that he is near, at the gates.
Amen, I say to you,
this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows,
neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

    Simply put in shorter terms..
The gospel is all about God's second arrival on Earth. We do not know when it will happen, how it will happen and why it will happen, but all we need to do is always be prepared to face him. He will then decide if we are truly worth to be with him in heaven, or sent down and thrown into the pits of hell.

In this gospel, this is one way God tells us to be good to everyone, every time, because through this, people will be separated to those who do things only because it is needed, to those who do things because their heart tells them to.

This gospel is a very touching gospel because not only does it tell us to shape up, but it also tells us to stop wasting our time. This is actually a case where in the term YOLO can actually work, since we only live once, then we should make the most out of it, for others and for yourself. This is why we should never leave those who are in need behind because each and every action we do is reflected to God, and he will use those actions when he comes down from heaven.

Summary: This Gospel is basically about Jesus' return to the Earth. Nobody knows what or when will this happen aside from God the Father Himself. We all may be welcomed in God's arms like innocent children or condemned in hell for all eternity. Also, never forget the word of God, prepare, and repent.

Reflection: This Gospel basically tells me to do good and just things as long as I live because nobody knows when I'm going to die or if Jesus is coming back to get me and the entire human race. Basically, we have to prepare for the second coming and be the people God wants us to be.

Action plan: I will value the time I have here on this Earth and always be thankful for all the blessing God as bestowed on me. Appreciate that God gave me a chance to live and experience life's challenges and happiness while I'm here. Also, I will continue to be a good person and help others in order to avoid having to spend life eternity in hell.

    SEE:
The Gospel is talking about the 2nd coming of Jesus on earth. It talks about how we will never know when He will be coming, He just will. It talks of what will happen during the coming of Jesus and how the earth will be nothing, our land will turn into nothing because of what His power and how small and irrelevant our world is to HIs glory and to his name. The division of heaven and earth will be gone, and we will all live as one, only the Son and the Father’s words will live forever. We must also be physically, mentally, and spiritually ready for His coming,

    JUDGE:
I see this as Jesus telling us to prepare. We will never know when He will come and by the time that He does, there is no tomorrow, who you are at that moment is what He will judge. There’s no time to change your actions and redo the bad that you have done. You must be ready because He could come at this very second and everything you knew about the world, this world, will change and heaven and earth will join as one in Him. His power is so much greater than everything and so much more powerful than everything so we will all know when His coming is happening and when it does, we will know if we are truly worthy of His love and power.

    ACT:
This has inspired me to become a better person, cliche as it may be. It really opens ones eyes to realize that Jesus may come right now, and to ask oneself “Have I been like Him in my time here?” It is really something to think about. Jesus tries explaining the 2nd coming but when we experience it, it will be a million times greater, a million times more power than we could ever imagine, because that is His power. And we are so irrelevant to Him and his glory that we must honor what He has given us by being true prophets of His love, and do the right thing under His word.

This gospel is telling us that we should always be prepared for the second coming of our lord, Jesus Christ. We should all know that His second coming could come at anytime and because of that, we should always be prepared. The gospel is also trying to say that the second coming is not far from our current timeline. It is implying that the second coming could happen within our lifetime which is why we should be prepares physical, mentally and spiritually. No one except for God knows when the second coming will be which is why we should live a prosperous life here on earth. We wouldn't want to meet our father with all the sins we have committed which is why we should make it a habit to go to a confession every now and then. We all know that no one is sinless except for Mother Mary and Jesus Christ.

SEE: The gospel is about the second coming of Christ on Earth, and how we should all be prepared for it, even if we do not know when it is coming. The second coming could happen at anytime, so we must always be equipped and ready to face Christ once again.

JUDGE: The gospel states that before the second coming, "the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.” I see this as a representation that before Christ’s coming, dreadful and dark things will happen. This is especially applicable to the current situation of the world, which include recent terrorist attacks, suicide bombings, and more. With that being said, I believe that we should all be prepared for His coming, because as said, this could happen at any time, even now.

ACT: This gospel has inspired me to strengthen my relationship with Christ and to be more in God’s image and likeness. I can do this through prayer, confession, and by not committing sin. This is because Christ can come at any time, and when He does, who we are at that moment is what He will use as basis if we can spend eternal life with Him or not. This gospel tells us all to be better, as persons, as Christians, and as soldiers of Christ.

SEE: This gospel shows Jesus foretelling the second coming of the Son of Man, and he reminds us of how to prepare for it and watch for the signs, but unlike His comparison to the fig tree wherein we already aware of what is to come, no one but God knows when that will happen.

JUDGE: Given that we won't know exactly when Jesus will come back again, I believe that this should be a reminder of us to be prepared. He may come when we least expect it - just as it was told on other gospels. This is not a physical preparation, but a spiritual preparation where we must be able to restore our relationship with God through Confession in order for us to be able to welcome Him with open arms when He comes back.

ACT: As a plan of action, I must strengthen my relationship with Christ through prayer, good acts, and by abiding with His law. This will be my way of preparing myself for His 2nd coming. Also, I will have to reconcile with God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, so I can further strengthen my relationship with Him.

See: As stated in the gospel we do not know when He will come again and thats why we must prepare for when it is time all we be judged. Only God knows when is the time so until then we must prepare for we do not know if we will get welcomed into His arms or get sent below.

Judge: This gospel tells us that we must be good to everyone all the time, it also tells me that through this good acts we can fix our relationship with God

Act: I will see the good in everything that people do and help them when they need it the most. And lastly to value my time here Earth

See: The gospel speaks about the second coming of Christ. The time comes when everything we know is no longer true. The moon will no longer give its light, the stars would fall from the sky, the heavens will shake. The children of God will be chosen to be brought into heaven or purgatory. Our world might die but the teachings and the word of God will remain with us. No one knows when this day will come, no one but God.

Judge: I feel that this is a warning to us. Anytime the world could end and before we know it it would be the rapture, The second coming of Christ. We should love one another and worship God, we should live our lives to the fullest, Carpe Diem. We must act good so that we can enter the kingdom of heaven when this time comes, for when this time comes there will be no hope for retribution.

Act: I will live my life to the fullest and treat everyone with the same respect and love as I love God, or to love your neighbors because Jesus is also our neighbor. I will worship God and pray to him and I would pray for others and also help them.

SEE: This gospel talks about Christ's second coming here on earth. It tells us about the signs that wil alert us that the second coming is near. The gospel is here to warn us. When nature seems to go out of order, then we know the second coming is near. He also tells us that only God the Father knows when the second coming is and that we should remain alert to the sign of times.

JUDGE: What I gather from this passage is that there is hope. The verse that struck me is "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." All of earth and heaven may pass away but not His word, and in His word what has He promised us? He promised us everlasting life. His word tells us that His plans for us are not to harm us, but to prosper us, give us hope and a future. In His word our faith is strengthened and our hope is fueled. Hope is faith in action. It's knowing and truly believing that there's more to the future. This gospel is not only a warning to us, it's a sign of hope. It's a sign that although heaven and earth will pass away, but my word, my promise to you will not. It's a call to continue to work as Jesus' body here on earth and to find hope in His word.

ACT: For me, I'd read the Bible more to find that hope in His word and to understand and get to know Jesus more. I'd also keep hoping by putting my faith into action. Even with all the events happening in the world right now, hope is what the world needs. It needs prayers and prayers in action. I believe in the power of prayer and I will intercede for this world, for world peace. Most importantly, it needs love. I will love and let all that I do be done in love. I will do my best to be kind to everyone and to do what Jesus would do.

The Gospel of Mark is about the Second Coming of Christ. We do not know when its going to happen but we know what will happen. The Earth will become nothing and everything will be chaotic; but when Jesus comes in the picture, there will be no division between Earth and Heaven. He will break that barrier and we will all rejoice in His glory. However, we have to be ready for the Second Coming because it could happen at any time. No one knows except for God, the Almighty Father.

    JUDGE
I believe that The Gospel of Mark is trying to give us a warning and a reminder. Even thought the Second Coming sounds scary, we have to remember that there will be a prize at the end of the chaos. We would be reunited with our Father and our Creator, so we should prepare because this could happen anytime.

    ACT
The Gospel has taught me to value my time here on Earth, and that I should spend more time with the people who truly matter to me. It also taught me that I should change for the better, because He will decide if I am worthy enough to stay with Him. Since He has given me so much, I should return the favor.

  12. SEE – The gospel talks about Christ’s second coming to Earth – how we will never foresee and prepare for it, as we won’t know about when He will return…He just will. As the second coming may happen at any time, we must always be ready: physically, mentally, spiritually. The Gospel also talks of what will happen during His coming – the earth and land will be nothing. Our worldly possessions are incomparable to His name and glory.

JUDGE – In my opinion, the Gospel warns us and reminds us to prepare for His return. Human beings make mistakes and commit sins; often, we forget to take into consideration how our actions will affect others and, more importantly, our God. Christ’s coming can happen at any time – and, if it is near, we must prepare ourselves by listening and following His word

ACT – I felt three things when I read this gospel: Motivation, thanksgiving, and fear. Of course I’m afraid of meeting my maker, the Creator…my God. It would certainly be difficult to look at Him without feeling guilty and regretful for all the sins I’ve committed. This fuels me to become a better person; it motivates me to constantly radiate positive vibes and love to others. I will reflect His image and likeness as I was created to be. Lastly, when I read this Gospel, I felt thankful because I’m so blessed to be living the life I am right now and we’re all very blessed to have a God as forgiving and kind as He is.

  13. See: This gospel tells us about the possible return of God. We never know when and where this will happen so this serves as a warning to all of us. Everyone is committing sin and that is one of the biggest reasons why God's return can possibly happen anytime. For him to restore peace and teach us what is good and right.

Judge: This Gospel is telling us that even though we don't know when where or how will God return, this is telling us to be prepared for the coming of the greater good and for us to welcome him back if ever he really steps foot on earth.

Act: As a student, I believe that God's possible return here is a good sign and bad sign at the same time. Good sign because he will see and guide his children to the right path. To help us learn what is right. His return may also mean that there are more and more people turning into sinners and it's our task to be God's soldiers and do his command instead of disobeying him

  14. Summary: The Gospel is about telling us the signs of the Lord's second coming. It's also telling us to follow his commandments and to do good, to remind that all of us are acting differently.

Judge: We never know when He will come but we need to be ready. We are being warned by all the things happening in either our own lives or to everyone else.

Action: I would try my best to be a better person to others more and to appreciate everything that's happening. I would absorb and will help, step by step, in my own ways, to make the world a better place.

  15. SEE: This gospel presents to us the second coming. No one else shall know when He shall come but God Himself. On the day if his return, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall be unlit. From the skies we shall see His power and glory. All this is told to us and this is all the revelation we require.

JUDGE: The gospel serves as a guide as to what to expect. In its sheer randomness, I have drawn the conclusion to expect whatever is unexpected. Heed only His words. We should live a life of humble service for our neighbor. Then all His power shall turn to awe and we need not fear an ounce of it if we have lived in goodness.

ACT: Must preparation be our task? I believe, it is more imperative that we make our preparation a life. We should not have a short term preparation. We should always exercise fighting temptation and living out God's word. We should not prepare. We must live the life expected of us.

See: The gospel talks about Jesus' second coming down to earth but basically tells us that he may come soon and that we should prepare for it since w e don't know when it will happen, only the father knows.

Judge: The gospel tells us that we should patiently prepare and wait for Christ's coming. It sort of states that we should always be the best person we can be, this helps us in preparation. Also, it says that there will always be evil in this world, but there will always be a light guiding us which is christ himself.

Act: I will patiently value everything I can in this world and always try to see the good. This gospel helps me realize that everyone should be a follower of christ and not waste one minute here on earth. I will do my best to be the best person I could be to everyone and to God.

See: The gospel tells about Jesus' second coming to earth and says that that time could be any time so we have to prepare ourselves for it. No one else know when it'll happen but only God does.

Judge: The message of the gospel is for us to be aware of the second coming and that we should be prepared when it comes. We should always be the person God wants to be and resist evil. Have faith in Jesus and he will be the light that guides you through life.

Act: I will be the person God wants me to be and appreciate everything in the world. I will follow His plan and His word, so that I could be a good example to other people in the world.

See: I see the gospel is trying to tell us that there will be a time that Christ will come again. That time will come and we must be prepared. Only time will tell before it is to late so we must create a good relationship with god.

Judge: I see this as a warning. We must remember that if the time has coke we must leave God with our fate. We create this holy bond and we must not break it.

Act: I avoid sin to create and continue my bond with God. I will follow the things God has taught us over the years. We must believe and put ourselves in Gods hands
