FREEDOM AND CONSCIENCE

Joaquin Mercado JH

In the recent APEC hosted by the Philippines, I learned that it is important for our country to have good relations with other countries in the Asia-Pacific region in order to promote free trade with other countries to improve our economy and become a progressive, developed and industrialized state. The impact and significance of this conference is that all the countries in the region would help each other in improving industrialization and globalization. This is to take advantage of the growing economic dominance of the Asia-Pacific countries. One major probem here in the Philippines is the number of people living in poverty. Poverty is one of the main issues preventing the Philippines from becoming a highly industrialized state. This problem is caused by many other problems in the Philippines such as the lack of a proper educational system and the lack of proper job opportunities. If the poverty rates in the Philippines is not addressed by the government, the on APEC CHALLENGES, VIS-A-VIS; FREEDOM AND CONSCIENCE (Term 2)
